Jules blessed us with her friendly welcome! The campsite is well managed and maintained. Our 2nd camping experience with t rooftop tent were wonderful enjoyed the private ablution and kitchen.Amazing bird and fish life, we especially enjoyed the river view and tranquility.Jules we bless you and your family in Jesus Christ Name!

A hidden gem on the route to and from Johannesburg. We needed some car parts, and the owners were very helpful; everything was arranged within an hour. It took us three days to do that. Definitely a place to return to. Everything is available in the village of Christiani.

Excellent communication via whatsapp and a warm welcome to this great campsite. Campsites and private ablution and kitchen area all neat and well maintained. Great position on the Vaal river. We wish we could stay more than one night and would love to return.

What a beautiful place on the banks of the Vaal River. The hosts, Basil, Jules and their sons, were absolutely amazing and very helpful. On our first night my husband getting sick and the hosts were absolutely helpful and we were feeling like a family. What a wonderful place to relax and everything we're clean. We will be back definitely over and over again. We will recommend them as far as we could. Thank you Basil, Jules and sons.

Our stay at this campsite was an absolutely amazing experience! From the moment we arrived, the hosts made us feel so welcome. They were incredibly friendly, warm, and accommodating. The atmosphere of the place is both relaxing and inviting, making it the perfect escape.

The rooms are truly stunning and elegant, far beyond what you’d normally expect at a campsite. Every detail is so well thought out, blending comfort with style beautifully. It’s the perfect mix of nature and luxury.

I would highly recommend this campsite to anyone looking for a memorable getaway. We’ll definitely be back!

We spent the night there. For the price we paid, we expected much better. Very disappointed. Know they flooded but post they paid the money back and instead closed until they are back up to standard. Access road to the camp is very poor and not recommendable for normal vehicle or road caravan.

Hi Karen, ag sorry (Susan),Thank you for your feedback — we’re always open to improving where we can.Just to clarify for future guests: the access road you’re referring to is a public municipal road, not part of Riverbend Camp’s property or maintenance responsibilities. The recent heavy rains certainly didn’t do it any favors, but thankfully it remains passable and has been used by multiple standard vehicles — including sedans and motorhomes — without issue.If there’s anything specific on our campsite that didn’t meet your expectations, we’d love to hear it — we’re all for growing. But blaming us for municipal infrastructure might be a bit of a stretch, especially during a flood season.Looking forward to welcoming you back under sunnier skies — maybe with a off-road caravan next time. 😉

Beautiful campsite with shady trees right on the banks of the Vaal River. Each pitch has its own very clean showers, toilets and sinks. Very good free wifi. We made two nights out of one because we felt so comfortable. The owners are extremely nice and helpful.

Definitief a must!! Very clean, well managed camping area. Nice that you can sleep in one of their tents that's well furnished and clean, and you have your own ablutions block!

Jewel on the banks of the Vaal River. Green lawns and willow trees. Safe and well located near the N12. Perfect for quiet campers, but also for water sports enthusiasts..... motor boat, skiing, water ponies and fishing.

Baie dankie vir jou "review" Wilhelm! Dit is vir ons ‘n groot plesier om te hoor dat jy die groen grasperke, wilgerbome en ligging langs die Vaalrivier geniet het. Ons is bly dat daar iets is vir elkeen, van rustige kampers tot watersport-entoesiaste. Dit was regtig aangenaam om julle te ontmoet en nuwe vriende te kon maak, en ons hoop om julle gou weer terug te verwelkom vir nog 'n heerlike kuier!

All is as advertised. Friendly welcome, nice surroundings, well equipped. No signage from the town to the site, you need google maps to find it.
